‘A Visit to the Home for
Aged’ / An old age Home
(વૃદ્ધાશ્રમ)
I was on my way to visit the Home for the aged during
a school trip. According to me(મારા માનવા મુજબ), these homes are for those who are childless and do not have anyone to look
after(કાળજી લેનાર) them. Truly speaking, old age is a time when we need the love and
care of our loved ones.
Yesterday I visited the ‘Jivan Sandhya
Ashram’ in Ahmadabad and spent(વિતાવવું) the whole day there. The ‘Ashram’ is a heaven(સ્વર્ગ) of solace(રાહત) and comfort(આરામ) for the old and the aged. Our visit there was an unforgettable(ન ભુલીશકાય તેવું) lesson in
caring and sharing. The forty old inmates(સહવાસીઓ) of the ashram were all above the age of sixty five. I along with
my friends talked to each and every inmate. We shared snacks with them. We sang
song for them. Some of the
stories of their personal lives they told us were so pathetic(દયનિય) that
many of us were moved to tears. One
old woman of the inmates said that
she was thrown out of the house by
her son just to live happily with his wife. Another old handicapped(અપંગ) man said that he was put in the ashram by his son. I was shocked at those happenings. Imagine being deprived (વંચિત)of all your income and being thrown out into the
street by your own children! The care shown to them by the volunteer(સ્વયં સેવક) at the ashram was indeed inspiring. It was obvious that our visit made
the inmates feel very happy.

Everybody knows him very well. There are many servicers in our society. They
are postman, teacher, doctor, lawyer, engineer etc. In all of those, my favorite
personality is વ્યક્તિનું નામ. He is familiar person of
the society. But we think very little about him. He gets up early in the morning
and goes to તેનું કાર્ય સ્થળ. He reached there in time
and started his work. He never be late in his duty and performs his role and
responsibility very well.

According to him, work is
worship. He is a very hardworking man. He is always helpful to other. His life is full of thorn but he delights us
with the light of his work and his nature.
He is an honest and punctual person of our society. He is very co-operative
man. He is the most useful personality of the society. We can’t live without
him. I like him very much. In fact, he is the real hero of the society.
